GPN Inks Deal Down Under
Film Construction Joins GPN Roster as Key Player in New Zealand and Australia
LOS ANGELES - Global Production Network (GPN) signed an exclusive North American representation deal with Film Construction of Auckland, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia,
adding to its roster of top-ranked production services companies around the world.
Founder/Executive Producer Peter Hewett and Senior Producer Katrina Maw helm this Australasian enterprise with Peter in Auckland and Katrina in Sydney. Film Construction has built a solid reputation since its 1996 inception and continues to grow its following. Peter is a leader and a mentor who happened into the spot business two decades ago. He worked in feature films in Australia before producing commercials in the early period of the spot industry in New Zealand. Katrina was in the
ad agency biz for 10 years in Sydney before coming over to the production side and taking the lead
at Film Construction’s Australia office.
With fully-staffed and state-of-the-art equipped offices in Auckland and Sydney, Film Construction has access to world class crews, key equipment suppliers, extensive talent resources and a wide range of topography and climates, including winter in New Zealand during the summer months in North America. Film Construction’s recent production service projects include working with Plum Productions LA and director Eric Saarinen on spots for McDonalds, Quaker and Chevy.
In addition to a gallery of location photographs, Film Construction’s website, www.filmconstruction.com, showcases Peter and Katrina’s Global Workspace. This is a secure site used on projects to post anything and everything relevant to pre-production including storyboards, location photos, talent pictures, and schedules. This technology has proven to be a very successful tool in reducing time on the ground for international clients.
“We love the production service business and are very happy to have hooked up with GPN,” said Peter Hewitt. “We look forward to hosting GPN’s clients and showing them all we can do in this part of the world. It’s as good as it gets down here!”
“Peter and Kate have a wealth of experience between them, to say the least,” said Harry Tracosas, GPN Founder and President. “They are wonderful collaborators who can help our clients determine the best approach and the best locations in all of New Zealand, Australia and throughout the neighboring islands. It’s a great benefit to GPN to have one company covering so much territory.”
