MarlowFilm Joins GPN
Global Production Network adds Denmark to It's Roster
LOS ANGELES – Global Production Network (GPN) has signed an exclusive North American representation deal with MarlowFilm in Denmark, adding to its roster of top-ranked production services companies in Europe. GPN and MarlowFilm worked together recently on a Samsung project for Omaha Pictures and Berlin Cameron.
Founded in 2002, MarlowFilm’s managing directors, Deborah Bayer Marlow and Jacob Marlow, bring more than 30 years of film production experience to their company. After 10 years of producing TV commercials in Los Angeles and New York for veteran directors Joe Pytka, Bob Giraldi, and many of the up-and-coming directors of the 90s, Deborah re-located to Copenhagen in 2000. As a freelance producer in Europe, Deborah worked with production companies, local and international, and directly with advertising agencies including Grey/Copenhagan and Wibroe, Duckert & Partners (WDP), Denmark’s largest Ad firm. Jacob’s film career prior to MarlowFilm was in lighting; he was gaffer for 20 years, earning the respect of many international DPs and winning numerous European awards for lighting design.
After 2 years in Denmark, it was clear to Deborah that the exquisite design of Copenhagen’s modern architecture and the country’s expansive landscapes and seascapes, and scenes out of old world Europe -all within an hour’s drive of the city- were a draw for the international filmmaker. She also realized that there was a gap between what clients were getting in the Scandinavian market and what was available to them. With this in mind, Deborah and Jacob launched MarlowFilm and after only a few years, the company has become a well-respected leader in the production service business in Denmark. Their strong ties to crew, talent and equipment providers allows MarlowFilm to deliver a style of production previously unprecedented for this region.
MarlowFilm has worked with many well-known production companies including @radical media, Omaha Films and Nonfiction Spots. Speck Gordon, Jeff Zwart and Charles Wittenmeier are among the directors they have produced for, and projects have included spots for Samsung, Dr. Pepper, Jeep, and Nike. In the feature film world, they have worked with Gus Van Sant, Martha Coolidge and Thomas Vinterberg.
“After working with GPN on Samsung, we knew a formal alliance was in order,” said Deborah Marlow. “GPN’s commitment to excellence is what sealed the deal for us. There is no doubt we will be great partners as we continue to build our respective reputations in the global production market.”
“MarlowFilm has a great vision and a very professional approach,” said Harry Tracosas, GPN Founder and President. “Deborah and Jacob are extremely flexible and accommodating which are key criteria we look for in our partners. We are very pleased to have this caliber of talent working with us in Denmark.”
