Our partner´s studio is based in Almaty. The city is situated in the south of the country, in the foothills of Then Shan mountain chain. Being the former capital of the country, Almaty continues to hold the status of its cultural center. Almaty is a 20 minute drive away from Shimbulak ski resort and accessible helicopter pads (Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan mountain peaks) are 2–3 hours away by flight. Kazakhstan has a developed alpinism infrastructure, is Chinaś neighbor and has comparatively short distances from most of country’s landscapes:
