Austria's diverse landscapes provide an impressive range of locations. From the dramatic Alps to the gentle hills of the east, and from the Danube Valley to the pristine lakes of the Salzkammergut, the country ofers distinctive central European scenery within manageable distances.
The changing seasons create natural variety throughout the year. Winter transforms the mountainous regions into snow-covered landscapes from December through March, while the warmer months showcase lush meadows, historic vineyards, and crystal-clear lakes across the country. Austria's excellent infrastructure makes location moves efficient.
Vienna serves as the main production hub, while cities like Salzburg, Graz, and Innsbruck each ofer their own unique architectural and cultural backdrops. The urban environments range from historic districts to modern cityscapes, providing versatile settings for diverse productions. In 2024 the new HQ7 Studios opened in the heart of Vienna and ofer two state of the art soundproof stages as well as one of the largest fully furnished hospital film sets in Europe with over 460sqm.
Close proximity to the ARRI headquarters in Munich allows for easy access to modern equipment and the neighboring countries of Hungary, Slovenia and the Czech Republic open the possibility for crew hiring with competitive rates.
