Austrian-born Markus Stummer started his filmmaking journey as a cutter,spending 24/7 in dimly lit cutting rooms. Editing TV shows, feature films,hundreds of music videos and movie trailers taught him the skills of good storytelling, timing and humour. After training as a drama teacher, he began directing music videos for European pop culture. His first commercial, for Guinness, earned a place on the shortlist for the Young Director Award @Cannes. Over the past two decades, Markus has worked with top artists such as Lady Gaga and now enjoys making commercials for major brands including Ikea, Mercedes-Benz and McDonald's.

At the heart of Markus' work is his passion for authentic storytelling, his extreme attention to detail and his strength in directing actors, non-actors and kids. His obsessive commitment, his cinematic sensibility, and his deep appreciation for the actor-director relationship are his signature.
